On Thursday, August 24, 2017, Papa John’s International Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) announced that it was expanding into three new countries. The company has signed into development agreements for Poland, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. PJ Western has entered into a development agreement to open sixteen new restaurants in Kazakhstan over the next five years. The first store, which will be located in Almaty, will open in the new few months.
Simultaneously, Papa John’s plans to open its first restaurant in Kyrgyzstan sometime during the 4th quarter of 2017. It plans to open six restaurants in Bishkek over the next three years. In Poland, Papa John’s plans to open 23 restaurants with the first coming in late 2017. The company has also made it clear that they were looking for new franchisees in Paris, Germany, Belgium and Denmark.
Papa John’s, which is based out of Louisville, Kentucky, is the 3rd largest pizza delivery company in the world.
