This week, two companies filed WARN notifications with the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. On January 25, 2019, ParkOhio Products Inc. submitted its WARN letter notifying the Office of Workforce Development that it would be closing its Cleveland, Ohio facility. The facility located at 7000 Denison Avenue is expected to close completely by March 31, 2019. The closure and impending layoffs will be permanent.
The employee separations are expected to be completed by March 31, 2019. The WARN notification is vague and does not provide an estimate of the number of employees who will be impacted by the facility’s closure. The full WARN notification can be found here. On January 28, 2019, Teleperformance filed its own WARN notice with the Office of Workplace Development. The letter explains that the company has intentions to change the structure of its customer service organization.
Changes will be made to the way the company handles customer inquiries and where the inquiry calls are answered. As a result, the company will be closing its Fairborn, Ohio facility. It is located at 57 East Dayton Springs Road in Fairborn. The company believes that the closure will be permanent. It is anticipated that 334 workers will be laid off as a result.
Workers do not have access to bumping rights. They will be separated from their employment on March 31, 2019. The full WARN notice can be found here.
