Psychologist From Powell, Wyoming Pleads Guilty To Health Care Fraud

This week, it was announced that a psychologist from Powell, Wyoming had pleaded guilty to health care fraud involving mental health services falsely billed to Wyoming Medicaid. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney John R. Green. 57-year-old Gibson Buckley Condie is a licensed psychologist.

Condie was indicted by a federal grand jury in May of 2017 for an alleged scheme to defraud Medicaid. As a part of the plea agreement, Condie has agreed to serve three years in prison and pay roughly $2.28 million in restitution to the Wyoming Department of Health and the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The defendant will also forfeit certain assets traceable to the proceeds of the fraud.

Judge Alan Johnson has accepted the guilty plea. Final sentencing is scheduled for January 8, 2018.
