Ruby Tuesday To Open 5 Restaurants In Qatar Over Next 5 Years

Ruby Tuesday (NYSE: RT) has plans to open several new restaurants in the country of Qatar over the course of 5 years. The company announced it had signed a new agreement with Al Bairaq Trading Import & Export Co. W.L.L. to expand its presence in the country. Al Bairaq Trading Import & Export is a Qatari-based franchise group, which is owned and operated by Alaa Subhi Abbas. The group has significant experience as a franchisee and has worked with Aston Martin and MG. They also own the Aloosh Iraqi restaurant. As a franchisee of Ruby Tuesday, the group will open five restaurants in Qatar.

Ruby Tuesday already has some footing in the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. The company works closely with the National Arabic Company for Restaurant Management and Gourmania International. The group is proudly Ruby Tuesday’s master franchisee across all three markets. They operate 6 restaurants in Kuwait, as well as seven in Egypt, UAE, Oman and KSA. The National Arabic Company for Restaurant Management and Gourmania International is a part of the Bukhamseen Group Holding Company. There are more than 600 Ruby Tuesday restaurants spread across 41 states and 14 foreign countries. The majority are owned and operated by the company, while a small portion of restaurants is franchised.
