Sam’s Club is owned and operated by Walmart. The American membership-only retail chain was founded in 1983. On January 11, 2018, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development received three WARN notifications from Sam’s Club. The WARN notices confirm that the company will soon be closing three Indiana stores. Club number 6316 is located at 3015 West 86th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The club is expected to close to the public on January 26, 2018. All hourly employees will be terminated on March 16, 2017, while management employees will be let go on April 13, 2018. As a result of the store closure, 152 workers are expected to lose their jobs. Club number 6301 is located at 10859 East Washington Street in Indianapolis. The entire facility is expected to close. The club will close to the public on January 26 and all hourly employees will be laid off on March 16, 2018. Management employees will lose their jobs on April 13, 2018.
As a result of club 6301 closing, 157 employees will lose their jobs. Finally, Sam’s Club also announced that it would be closing Club number 8170. The club is located at 4024 Elkhart Road in Goshen, Indiana. The facility will be closed to the public on January 26, 2018. Hourly employees will be terminated on March 16, 2018, while management employees will be terminated on April 13, 2018. In total 110 employees are expected to be impacted by the closure.
As a result of the three closings, 419 employees will be laid off.
