UFC, X Games and Live Nation provide consumers with access to some of the most exciting entertainment events in the world. Many sit around their television screens and cheer on their favor fighters when a UFC event is televised live. Samsung Electronics wants to make these events even better by adding virtual reality to the mixture. The company, which produces the Gear VR, has entered into partnerships with X Games, Live Nation and the UFC. Now, Samsung will stream certain live events to fans in virtual reality format.
The events will cover a variety of genres, including sports and music. These broadcasts will be available directly through the Gear VR platform. These events will be acessible to Gear VR users in early June enabling users to watch live sporting events and musical performances from anywhere. Simultaneously, the company has expanded its presence to 45 countries. This will allow even more consumers to enjoy the revolutionary Gear VR platform.
The virtual reality live broadcasts will start in June of 2017 with UFC’s 212 event. The event, which is held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is headlined by a UFC featherweight championship showdown between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway. Then, Gear VR users will be able to enjoy the X Games in Minneapolis from July the 13th to the 16th. The X Games events will feature some of the world’s best skaters and BMX riders.
Finally, VR users will want to check out Live Nation’s Live Music Concert with International Artist in August. Users will have access to an unparalleled ‘live pass’ to shows. They’ll witness live action shots and extreme close-ups. This content will be available for free of charge.
