Columbus, Ohio – Uptown Westerville Healthcare filed a WARN with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on May 22, 2019. The notice warned of a layoff that would affect approximately 50 employees, which make up all of the facility’s staff. The staff consists of dietary, nurses, nurse aids and housekeeping, as well as other roles.
The layoff comes after the federal government threatened to stop Medicaid and Medicare payments to Uptown Westerville Healthcare due to “poor care”, according to the Dispatch.
According to the WARN, all of the employees would be laid off no later June 20, 2019. Some employees are expected to depart earlier due to a decline in resident population.
