Wasilla, Alaska Man Indicted On Federal Wire Fraud Charges

On Friday, May 18, 2018, it was announced that a man from Wasilla, Alaska had been indicted on federal wire fraud charges related to an alleged scheme to defraud Alaska consumers. 32-year-old Dimitry Kudryn was charged with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The indictment alleges that from July of 2014 to the present, the defendant allegedly participated in a scheme to defraud consumers of Alaska by falsely representing that furniture made in China that he sold in Alaska had been made in Italy.

The defendant allegedly purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of wholesale furniture from a manufacturer in China. Then, he is accused of selling the furniture in Alaska through Craigslist. The indictment accuses Kundryn of misleading and inducing consumers by posting materially false advertisements on Craigslist.com. At this point in time, the defendant is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
